Meet the Director Screen
The biggest change to how you run a game with The Poker Timer. Your player display and tournament controls now live on separate screens, so your players get a clean, uninterrupted view of the action while you manage everything behind the scenes.
What's new
The Poker Timer now gives you two dedicated screens, each designed for a different job.
The Player Screen is the big-screen experience everyone in the room sees: the clock, blinds, breaks and all the information players need to follow the tournament.
The new Director Screen is your private control centre. From here, you can manage players, late entries, knockouts, levels, standings and the rest of your tournament without interrupting what's being shown to the room.
Both screens stay connected and update together in real time.
How to use it
Run your Player Screen on a TV, projector or second monitor, then keep the Director Screen on the computer in front of you.
As the tournament progresses, you can manage the game privately from the Director Screen while the Player Screen keeps doing its job uninterrupted.
Add a late arrival. Knock out a player. Check the standings. Manage the tournament. Your players don't need to see you doing any of it.
Why it matters
Until now, running a tournament meant the screen your players were watching was also the screen you used to manage the game. Every time you needed to make a change, you were effectively doing it in front of the room.
Director Screen changes that.
It separates running the tournament from watching the tournament.
For home games, it means less messing around with the main display. For clubs and larger tournaments, it gives the person running the game a proper workspace while keeping the player experience clean and professional.
It's a big step towards what we've always wanted The Poker Timer to be: not just a poker clock, but the software you run your whole tournament from.
